- especially_that_you_may prophesy.”._This_had_led_many_Christians_to_think_that_the_gift_of_prophecy_is_probably_the_greatest_gift_of_the_Holy_Spirit._The_gift_of_prophecy_is_found_in_the_New_Testament_where_the_Greek_word_translated_“prophecy”_stands_for_“a_speaking_forth”._It’s_a_gift_from_God_to_declare_a_message_that_comes_directly_from_Him_–_a_divine_gift_that’s_used_to_declare_the_Almighty’s_divine_will._Genuine_prophets_inspired_by_the_Holy_Spirit_are_believers_who_deliver_truths_that_God_wants_to_be_made_known_to_anyone_who_has_eyes_to_see_and_ears_to_hear._This_can_be_manifested_in_the_form_of_foretelling_future_events
- declaring_the_purposes_of_the_Lord_or_revealing_something_hidden._However
- we_have_to_remember_what’s_written_in_1_Thessalonians_5:19-21:_“Do_not_quench_the_Spirit. Do_not_despise prophecies
- but test_everything;_hold_fast_what_is_good.”._We_have_to_test_the_spirits_to_ensure_that_a_given_prophecy_does_indeed_come_from_our_Heavenly_Father_or_not_and_not_against_the_will_of_God
- note_that_the_purpose_of_the_gift_of_"prophecy"_is_to_build_the_Church_and_to_build_your_own_ministry_or_your_own_will.Many_pastors_today_are_asking_this_kind_of_gift_just_for_their_own_interests_which_very_bad_that_is_why_many_of_them_tend_to_call_themselves_"PROPHET"_therefore_this_gift_is_from_God_himself_for_the_purpose_of_building_his_church_and_not_your_interests_2._The_Gift_of_the_Word_of_Wisdom_The_word_of_wisdom_is_a_sort_of_wisdom_that’s_obviously_related_to_one_of_the_speaking_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit._Wisdom_is_a_God-given_gift_that’s_perfectly_explained_in_Proverbs_2:6-9:_“For the Lord gives_wisdom; from_his_mouth_come_knowledge_and_understanding;_he_stores_up_sound_wisdom_for_the_upright; he_is a_shield_to_those_who walk_in_integrity

- supernatural_way_through_which_the_Lord_reveals_Himself_in_various_situations_with_a_seemingly_obvious_outcome_e.g._when_Daniel_was_thrown_in_the_lion’s_den_(Daniel_6:12-28)._One_example_of_a_man_who_performed_various_miracles_recorded_in_the_Bible_is_Christ
- although_He_is_not_a_mere_human_being_God_Himself_as_Jesus_is_both_fully_man_and_fully_God._If_you_open_the_book_of_Acts_you’ll_find_many_different_miracles_performed_by_regular
- fully-human_individuals_such_as_Simon-Peter_(Acts_3:6)
- Paul_(Acts_19:11-12)_and_Stephen_(Acts_6:8)._The_gift_of_the_working_of_miracles_is_another_spiritual_gift_mentioned_in_1_Corinthians_12:10._This_gift_is_a_supernatural_ability_given_by_the_Holy_Spirit_to_certain_individuals_within_the_church._The_gift_of_the_working_of_miracles_involves_the_power_to_perform_extraordinary_and_supernatural_acts_that_go_beyond_the_natural_laws_of_creation._It_is_the_ability_to_bring_about_miraculous_interventions_or_manifestations_of_God's_power._These_miracles_can_include_healing_the_sick

- in_alignment_with_His_will_and_for_His_purposes._These_miracles_give_all_the_glory_to_God
- while_also_providing_full_credibility_to_Scripture._6._The_Gift_of_Speaking_in_Tongues_This_specific_gift_was_given_to_the_early_church
- shortly_after_Jesus’_ascension_into_heaven_(Acts_1:9)_to_help_them_spread_the_good_news_of_salvation._In_Acts_2:4_we_find_the_coming_of_the_Holy_Spirit_and_the_disciples_began_speaking_in_other_tongues_that_were_foreign_to_them_prior_to_the_Holy_Spirit’s_arrival._This_way_the_apostles_were_able_to_communicate_in_foreign_languages_without_any_prior_experience_in_any_of_them._This_divine_gift_that_enabled_them_to_speak_in_foreign_tongues_authenticated_the_gospel_of_Christ_as_one_forming_from_the_Lord_Himself._1_Corinthians_14:22_provides_an_interesting_insight_on_who_the_gift_of_speaking_in_tongues_is_meant_to_impact_as_a_sign:_“Thus_tongues_are_a_sign_not_for_believers_but_for_unbelievers
- while_prophecy_is_a_sign not_for_unbelievers_but_for_believers.”._But_note_that_in_1_Corinthians_13:1_Apostle_Paul_mentioned_that_there_are_both_human_and_angel_tongues
- implying_that_there’s_a_heavenly_language_as_well._7._The_Gift_of_Interpreting_Tongues_The_gift_of_interpreting_tongues_is_directly_related_to_the_gift_of_speaking_in_tongues_as_it_lets_the_believer_understand_what_someone_is_saying_in_a_foreign
- unknown_language._The_believer_who_can_interpret_a_foreign_language_via_the_Holy_Spirit_can_then_translate_the_message_so_that_everyone_else_can_understand_it._There_are_two_examples_of_this_specific_part_of_the_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit

- the_New_Testament_isn’t_the_only_place_in_the_Bible_that_records_believers_who_healed_other_people_by_the_power_and_for_the_glory_of_God._In_2_Kings_4:18-37_of_the_Old_Testament
- we_find_that_the_prophet_Elisha_was_able_to_bring_the_Shunammite_woman’s_son_back_to_life_in_a_supernatural_way_that_can_only_be_possible_with_the_divine_help_of_our_Creator._9._The_Gift_of_Serving_Believers_who_have_the_spirit_of_serving_have_both_the_desire_and_capacity_to_serve_the_Lord_by_means_of_providing_physical_and_spiritual_help_to_others._Serving_or_ministering_is_directly_related_to_the_word_deacon_(which_comes_from_the_Greek_word_“diakonian”)
- which_stands_for_all_kinds_of_service._A_great_example_of_someone_from_the_Bible_who_had_the_gift_of_serving_is_Tabitha_(which_means_Dorcas)._Acts_9:36_reveals_that_“She_was_full_of good_works_and_acts_of_charity.”_and_Scriptures_further_show_us_that_Tabitha_had_a_talent_for_sewing_that_she_used_to_help_clothe_the_widows_of_the_church_in_the_town_of_Joppa._However
- in_verse_37_we_learn_that_Tabitha_fell_ill_and_died._Clearly
- Tabitha’s_spiritual_gift_of_serving_was_quite_important_because_after_she_died

- some_of_the_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit_are_related_to_not_being_selfish_and_in_this_case_giving_freely._Jesus_says_the_following_words_in_Matthew_10:8_–_“Freely_you_have_received
- freely_give”._A_person_who’s_a_gifted_giver_would_be_extremely_happy_to_share_whatever_they_have_with_others
- be_it_attention_or_anything_material._Giving_joyfully_to_others_is_also_something_that_pleases_God_the_Lord_as_evident_by_2_Corinthians_9:7:_“Each_one_must_give_as_he_has_decided_in_his_heart
- not_reluctantly_or_under_compulsion
- for God_loves_a_cheerful_giver.”._It’s_not_about_giving_to_the_poor_and_needy_just_for_the_sake_of_it
- but_actually_feeling_led_to_give_to_others_and_feel_joyful_when_doing_so
- without_any_hesitance._We_are_given_the_ultimate_example_of_giving_unconditionally_to_those_who_don’t_deserve_it_by_what_Jesus_did_on_the_cross_for_humanity._He_gave_Himself_for_sinners_(i.e._all_of_humanity)_so_that_we_may_have_eternal_life_by_believing_in_Him._11._The_Gift_of_Teaching_Another_one_of_the_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit_is_the_supernatural_gift_of_teaching_related_to_explaining_the_true_context_and_meaning_of_Scripture_and_how_it_applies_to_our_lives._The_great_commission_revealed_by_Jesus_at_the_very_end_of_the_gospel_according_to_Matthew_includes_not_only_sharing_the_good_news_but_also_teaching_the_gentiles_in_the_ways_of_God._Here’s_what’s_written_in_Matthew_28:19-20:_“Go_therefore_and make_disciples_of all_nations
- baptizing_them in the_name_of_the_Father_and_of_the_Son_and_of_the_Holy_Spirit
- teaching_them to_observe_all_that I_have_commanded_you._And_behold
- I_am_with_you_always
- to the_end_of_the_age.”._The_gift_of_teaching_is_not_an_educational_degree_that_lets_you_teach_others._It’s_a_spiritual_gift_made_possible_by_the_Holy_Spirit_working_in_the_life_of_a_believer_to_accurately_teach_the_message_of_the_Bible._12._The_Gift_of_Mercy_The_Holy_Spirit_can_bring_another_supernatural_gift_in_the_form_of_mercy_that’s_shown_toward_other_people._This_gift_is_about_being_compassionate_and_displaying_sympathy_to_those_who_suffer_while_doing_your_best_to_improve_their_situation._Notice_what_Paul_wrote_in_Romans_12:8_concerning_mercy_–_“the_one_who_exhorts
- in_his_exhortation;_the_one_who_contributes
- in_generosity; the_one_who_leads
- with_zeal;_the_one_who_does_acts_of_mercy
- with cheerfulness.”._Believers_who_are_gifted_with_mercy_are_to_show_mercy_with_cheerfulness._On_top_of_that
- Jesus_Himself_said_“Blessed_are the_merciful
- for_they_shall_receive_mercy.”_in_Matthew_5:7._13._The_Gift_of_Helps_This_gift_of_the_Holy_Spirit_is_directly_related_to_the_gift_of_mercy_and_it’s_about_assisting_the_church_by_providing_grace_and_compassion._But_the_gift_of_help_isn’t_exclusively_focused_on_providing_practical_help_in_the_physical_and_emotional_sense._There’s_a_spiritual_aspect_to_helping_others_that_stems_from_the_supernatural_aspect_of_the_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit._The_spiritual_side_of_the_gift_of_help_is_demonstrated_by_identifying_people_who_suffer_from_doubt
- anxiety_and_fear_to_show_compassion_and_deliver_Biblical_truths
- all_in_a_loving_manner._14._The_Gift_of_Encouragement_This_particular_gift_is_present_in_believers_who_are_consistent_in_encouraging_others_to_grow_closer_to_the_Lord_by_correcting_them_and_solidifying_their_faith_in_Christ._Apostle_Paul_calls_fellow_believers_to_encourage_one_another_in_1_Thessalonians_5:11_with_the_following_words_“Therefore_encourage_one_another_and_build_one_another_up
- just_as_you_are_doing.”._This_encouragement_can_involve_anything_from_prayers_to_letters_and_encouraging_words._The_gift_of_encouragement_manifests_in_believers_who_clearly_have_a_unique_ability_to_lift_up_and_encourage_others
- which_can_be_done_in_various_ways_such_as_writing_spirit-filled_encouraging_words._Encouraging_fellow_Christians_in_their_walk_with_Christ
- especially_in_troubling_times
- with_the_special_help_of_the_Holy_Spirit_in_the_form_of_this_gift_is_a_truly_incredible_supernatural_ability_that_can_strengthen_weak_faith._15._The_Gift_of_Leadership_This_part_of_the_spiritual_gifts_of_the_Spirit_puts_an_emphasis_on_providing_leadership_to_guide_others_to_grow_in_God_Almighty._It’s_about_leading_by_example_through_grace_and_wisdom_by_focusing_on_leading_others_toward_drawing_closer_to_God_and_living_a_more_Christ-like_life_in_line_with_Biblical_truths._The_gift_of_leadership_is_not_about_being_proud_of_leading_people._It’s_about_realising_that_you_serve_God_by_leading_others_to_Him_and_His_plan_for_us._A_born-again
- Christian_who_has_this_gift_would_throw_any_pride_out_of_the_equation_by_serving_God_above_all._For_example
- although_James_was_a_Godly_leader_he_still_submitted_himself_to_our_Heavenly_Father_by_introduced_himself_in_James_1:1_as_“James
- a_servant of_God_and of_the_Lord_Jesus_Christ”._16._The_Gift_of_Discerning_Spirits_We_have_to_remember_that_apart_from_the_Holy_Spirit_that’s_part_of_the_Trinity
- there_are_other_spirits_(with_little_“s”)_that_don’t_come_from_God._Some_spirits_are_evil_and_come_from_the_father_of_lies_–_Satan_i.e._Lucifer._The_gift_of_discerning_spirits_enables_those_who_possess_it_to_recognise_if_something_is_from_God_or_from_the_devil._Jesus_Christ_Himself_gave_this_warning_regarding_last_days_–_“For many_will_come_in_my_name
